solfatara

SOLFATARA [def.]: A term for the openings in volcanic terrain that emit hot sulphurous gases. We are full of these geographic phenomena, orifices that allow our insides to come to the surface. It is during these eruptions when all our fears are revealed. Hidden within us, they strike the surface of the skin to expose themselves to everyone, but, most of all, to ourselves. Ignorant of the corrosive material that we are carrying within.
